Beyond the Arctic Circle: A VW Beetle "Convertible" in Finland

In a university town in Finland, just north of the Arctic Circle, we encountered an interesting "conversion" of a near-last year model of a Volkswagen Beetle.

The vehicle was observed in a student parking lot.  From appearances it would seem the owner "sawed off" the roof of a Beetle sedan and then fabricated both a removable plastic Targa followed by a "frame" which held up a "convertible top."

Taking both off one, would have sort of a convertible............... or one could just take off the Targa top and have a cheap Porsche.

How many convertibles may exist north of the Arctic Circle. Truly an existential question if there ever was one.
