The Diffusion of Technology in the Early Automotive Industry: a Japan/U.S.A Example

See this article below from The Horseless Age. Technology transfer often involves engineers who cross borders and take their acquired knowledge with them. I am using the Glidden tours as a handle for me to better understand early automotive history. Since I live in Dayton, Ohio, the Dayton-Speedwell Motor Car Company especially strikes a chord. Does anyone know about this T. Ninagawa? About Dayton-Speedwell? I will try to follow up on this, but any help in this matter would be most appreciated.
