The Early 1970s -- When Purple was a Popular Mopar Color

 Thanks to Ed for pointing out the photo of the Duster and tracking down the Challenger Ad.  Automotive Colors from the early 1970s need to be further highlighted!

    The royal class' purple monopoly finally waned after the fall of the Byzantine empire in the 15th century, but the color didn't become more widely available until the 1850s, when the first synthetic dyes hit the market.

  2. Yes, it was Perkin’s discovery of the color mauve in 1855. But I have no idea what the actual pigment that was used in those 1970 Mo Par cars.
