Young Mitt Romney Behind the Wheel of a Rambler: An American Hero!

For standing up when it counted -- Mitt Romney, my hero. In a New York Times Op-Ed in 2012, I faulted Mitt for suggesting that GM should be broken up. It certainly hurt his chances in Michigan and I remarked it was a coffin nail. It was costly to say what he believed about an automobile business he knew quite a bit about. He took a stand then and again yesterday. A true example of moral courage, and a lone Republican with backbone.

What started this post was another email from Ed.

A young Mitt Romney sitting in the driver's seat of one of dad George's Ramblers.  This photo may not go down in the history books, but Mitt's vote to "convict" yesterday surely will.  And remember that George Romney had integrity, too, when he came out against Richard Nixon as well as the Vietnam War.   What to bet a dollar that there's a Book of Mormon in this Rambler's glove compartment.

  2. It's actually a '57 Nash Ambassador "Super", a completely different car from the Rambler. Appears to have been taken in the late fall of '56 as there are 2 other Ambassadors in the background, suggesting a press intro of the '57 models. It was the last year for the Nash as AMC began concentrating on the Rambler for '58
