Ed and I saw this Chevy SS badged front and rear with the Holden brand and were mystified. Later Ed did some Internet research and found out more about this unusual car, at least for theDayton, Ohio area.
So it seems that the last (2017) Chevy Super Sports (SS) were made by Holden in Australia. See this website below. In many respects the car was similar to the Holden produced Pontiac G8 which one sees occasionally on the streets here in Ohio but which didn't sell well. All reports are that both of these cars were exceptional vehicles with extraordinary quality control. Both were powered by versions of the latest Corvette V-8.
By the way, the Chevrolet SS (rebadged "fake" as a Holden) was a very pricy car and was one of the reasons it didn't sell well in the US. I just checked the retail price for a 2017 Chevy SS made in Australia and it was $49,000, Most were delivered with sunroofs which added another $1,000 and so they stickers for around $50,000. A Chevrolet pushing Audi territory.
Over the last few years I've seen at least three Pontiac G8's made in Australia on our streets here in Dayton and perhaps one Chevy SS. The article I just sent noted that these were very underrated General Motors cars -- sort of stealth Corvettes with most coming to the states with six speed manual trannies.
