From Ed:
In 1971, International Harvester Corporation was continuing to make pick-up trucks out of its Springfield, Ohio, assembly plant.
In that year it made 471 "Special Edition" pick-up trucks called the "Johnnie Reb" Edition which had a decal of a cartoon Confederate soldier on the rear quarter panels. Here's an example that was for sale, as few remain in existence.
The current issue of Hemmings "Classic Car" has a story about the 1969-1975 International pick-ups. It seems that nearly all of the "Johnnie Reb" Editions were sold to dealers in the South.
