Among the sleek vehicle designs at this year's EyesOn Design car show, one model will stand out: An 80-year-old Lincoln prototype, the only one of its kind.
The Lincoln Continental prototype, created by Edsel Ford and designer Bob Gregorie in 1939, will be on display on the grounds of the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House June 16.
The display is part of the EyesOn Design car show, an annual Grosse Pointe Shores exhibition that showcases 200 to 300 vehicles and awards innovative design.
The car will appear at the show alongside a 1959 Jaguar Mark IX, a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special, a 1979 Lotus S2 and a 1974 Lamborghini Espada, among others.
It changed hands multiples times after Gregorie's ownership, suffering a major accident and eventually undergoing restoration in the early 2000s at the hands of its current owner.
Lincoln recently honored the 1939 design, originally created as a custom car for Ford, with a 2019 limited-release Continental that echoes the models of the 1960s.
Gregorie's car will be part of a special exhibit at the show, which features vehicles for
judging by invitation only.
Tickets for the show are available to the public are $25, and free for members of the military and children under 12.
